November is here! Tis the season of good food and exciting events at Black Dragon!
Wednesday Night Commander: Join us every Wednesday Night at 6 PM for our weekly Commander event. This event is free to attend. It's a great opportunity to meet other Commander players, test our your newest concoction, and get ideas for new and exciting decks! In November we'll host Wednesday Night Commander on the 1st, the 8th, the 15th, the 22nd, and the 29th.
Friday Night Commander League: An age old Magic the Gathering tradition: Friday Night Magic! Join us on Friday nights at 6 PM, 7:30 PM, and 9 PM for Commander Pods. This event is free to attend. In October we'll host Friday Night Commander on the 3rd, the 17th, and the 24th. There will be NO Friday Night Commander on the 10th, as we will be celebrating The Lost Caverns of Ixalan with Pre-Release events. See which events are being offered and get tickets below.
Friday Night Draft: Drafting is an exciting and dynamic format that ensures every Friday gives a different play experience! In November we will be having a chaos draft on the 3rd and drafting The Lost Caverns of Ixalan on the 17th and the 24th.
Friday Night Modern: Modern is a constructed, non-rotating format that pulls cards from sets as far back as Mirrodin. The cost of buy in for our Modern events is $5.00. In November we will be hosting Friday Night Modern on the 3rd, the 17th, and the 24th.
The weekend of November 10th, we'll have several Pre-Release opportunities for The Lost Caverns of Ixalan!
Friday, November 10 at 6 PM will be the first opportunity to play with some of the exciting cards from the newest Magic the Gathering Set! The cost for buy in is $35 with each participant getting a pre-release kit containing 6 draft booster packs, 1 pre-release promo, and a themed spindown die.
Friday, November 10 at 11:59 PM, is the return of our Premium pre-release experience! The cost of buy in for this event is $60. Players who participate in this event will have pizza and drinks provided throughout the event. The first 16 players to sign up will get a playmat that is themed for The Lost Caverns of Ixalan. Any players who participate beyond that will receive a random playmat.
Saturday, November 11 at 12:00 PM is one of the most exciting events to bring a friend to...the 2-Headed Giant Pre-Release event! The cost of buy in for this event is $35/player. In 2-Headed Giant events, teams of 2 play, plan, and battle together.
Saturday, November 11 at 6 PM, players will have another opportunity to play and build with this dynamic dino set. The cost of buy in for this event is $35.
Sunday, November 12 at 1 PM and Sunday, November 12 at 6 PM will be the final two opportunities to play and celebrate the Lost Caverns of Ixalan, before the sets official release on November 17. The cost of buy in on each of these events is $35.
Players who participate in any of these events will have the opportunity to earn special 30th Anniversary promos as follows: Play in at least 1 event to get a special Beast Whisperer promo. Play in at least 2 events to get a special Path of Ancestry promo. Play in at least 3 events to get a special Dramatic Reversal Promo. The player who wins the most events and the player who plays in the most events across the weekend will get a special Dragonlord Atarka Promo. (If there is a tie for the most wins or most event played, the promo will be given out randomly amongst those tied, and the other player/s will get a random promo from Magic the Gathering History)
On November 19th at 12:00 PM is the Open House for The Lost Caverns of Ixalan! This event is a Jumpstart event, aimed at encouraging players to bring their friends and introduce them to the universe of Magic the Gathering. Players who participate in this event will get a special Open House promo: Ravenous Chupacabra! Players who bring a new player (who has not played in store before) will also get a Bring a Friend promo!
